Career Shapers

You can find us in the Maxwell Building, which is number 5 on T B Sapru Road. It’s an older building but it has some character to it. We spend our days talking to people who are trying to figure out what to do next with their lives. It gets pretty busy during the graduation season, with students coming in and out. The stairs up to our floor are a bit steep, so that's our exercise for the day. Inside, we have some desks and chairs and a lot of folders. It’s not a very quiet place because there’s always someone on the phone or a meeting going on in the corner. Career Shapers has been here for a while now. We know the other folks in the building too. Sometimes the tea lady comes around and we take a quick break. We don’t have any fancy posters on the walls, just some maps and maybe a calendar that’s a month behind. It’s a practical space. People come here when they are stressed about jobs, so we try to keep the atmosphere calm, even if the office is a bit cluttered. The view from the window is just the street below, which is always full of cars and people. We just keep working through the piles of applications and resumes. It’s steady work and we like being in this part of town.
