Achmee Classes

Achmee Classes is situated at 331A/1 Nai Basti in the Kydganj area of Allahabad. It is a bit of a maze back here in Nai Basti, but once you find our door, it’s easy enough to remember. We have a modest setup with just a couple of rooms for teaching. The walls are mostly covered with old calendars and a few diagrams we drew ourselves. It gets a bit crowded when we have more than ten students at once, so we sometimes have to squeeze in extra stools. Kydganj is a lively place to be, and there is always something going on in the street outside. We spend our days going over lessons and making sure the students are actually doing their work. We don't have a fancy website or a marketing team. It is just us, sitting in these rooms, day after day. The floor is concrete and we sweep it ourselves every morning before the first class starts. We have a small desk near the entrance where we keep the registers. Most people hear about us from their cousins or neighbors. We don't promise anything crazy, we just show up and do the teaching. It is hard work, but we like the people who come here. Sometimes we share a bit of lunch if someone brings extra. It’s a very informal, honest kind of place where everyone knows everyone else’s name and we just get on with things.
