Srikrishna Rice Udyog Llp is based out of the village and P.O. of Bajekumarpur. We are set up at Sanat Kumar Mondal’s place. If you’ve ever been to a rice mill, you know it’s a dusty and loud environment. There is always the sound of the hullers and the smell of grain in the air. We spend a lot of time sorting through the paddy and making sure the machines are adjusted right. Some days the power goes out and we just have to sit and wait, which can be frustrating when there's a lot of work to do. The village life moves at its own pace, and we’ve become a part of that rhythm over the years. We don't have a fancy reception area or a polished front office. Most of the time, you'll find us out on the floor or near the loading area. The local farmers bring their harvests to us, and we talk about the weather and the crops while we work. It’s a very direct way of doing business. We aren't looking to become some massive corporation; we just want to keep the mill running and provide for our families. The bags of rice get stacked high in the warehouse, and it’s a good feeling when the trucks come to take them away. It's honest work that leaves you tired at the end of the day, but that’s just how it goes for us here in Bajekumarpur. We try to finish up before it gets too dark.
