L M Goenka Fire Bricks Pvt. Ltd. operates out of Plot No. B-103 in Bansal Tower. This is on R K Bhattacharya Road, which is always a very busy part of town. Our office is up in the tower, so we are a bit removed from the noise of the street, though you can still hear the horns honking down below. We deal with industrial fire bricks, which are heavy and not very pretty to look at, but they are necessary for a lot of factories and kilns. Most of our day is spent on the telephone or handling the logistics of moving these heavy loads from one place to another. We have a few desks, some filing cabinets that have seen better days, and a lot of samples sitting in the corner catching dust. It is a standard office environment where we drink a lot of coffee and try to keep up with the paperwork. The elevator in Bansal Tower is often slow, so we get used to waiting. We don't really have a big marketing team or anything polished like that. We just know a lot about bricks and heat resistance because we’ve been doing this for quite some time. It is a steady business and we have a small group of people who have been with us for years. We just focus on getting the orders out and making sure the accounts are settled.
