We run Chitra Gupta Marriage Burea out of room 215 in the Hari Narayan Complex. It’s a well-known building on Exhibition Road. People come to us when they are looking for matches for their family members. We have stacks of files and registers all over the desk. It’s a quiet office mostly, except for when the phone starts ringing off the hook. Exhibition Road is always loud, but once you get inside the complex and up to our floor, it’s a bit calmer. We spend a lot of time talking to parents and writing down details. It’s a lot of paperwork, really. We try to keep things organized but sometimes the files get a bit messy. It’s just how it goes when you’ve been doing this for years. We aren't a big corporation or anything like that. It’s just a local bureau helping people out. Some days are slow and we just sit and drink tea, and other days we have people coming in one after another. The complex has been around for ages, and we’ve been in this unit for quite some time too. If you are walking down Exhibition Road, you just look for the sign for Hari Narayan Complex. We’re on the second floor. It’s a basic office with some chairs for visitors and a lot of folders. We just do our best to help people find what they are looking for without making it too complicated or stressful for them.
