En Arch Technocrats

I usually get into the office here on Rajpura Road around nine, though the traffic near Punjab University can be a real headache some mornings. My desk faces the window and I spend a lot of time looking at the students walking by while I work on these technical drawings. En Arch Technocrats has been in this spot for a while now. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, and the ceiling fan makes this rhythmic clicking sound that I’ve grown used to. Most of our days are filled with looking at blueprints and talking to contractors who come in with mud on their boots. It’s not a fancy place by any means, but it works for us. Sometimes the power goes out in the afternoon, and we just sit there talking until it comes back on or we decide to call it a day. There is a small tea stall just a few steps away where we get our morning chai, and the guy there knows exactly how much sugar I like. It’s just how things are around here. We don't have a big corporate lobby or a receptionist in a suit. It’s mostly just me and a couple of others trying to stay organized with all the files and rolls of paper stacked in the corners. The Rajpura Road area is noisy, but once you step inside, it feels like we can actually get some work done.
