Shree Ganesh Pulse Mills

We are located right at the Khali Char Rasta in Village Khali. It’s a quiet area most of the time, out here in the Sidhpur Taluka of Patan District. Being a pulse mill means there is always a specific smell in the air, a bit earthy and dry. We have been running Shree Ganesh Pulse Mills for a long time, and the building has seen a lot of seasons. The machinery can be quite loud when it's all running at once, so we have to shout a bit to hear each other. We get our supplies from the local farmers around the district, so we are always keeping an eye on how the harvest is going. Our day starts early before the sun gets too hot. We spend a lot of time checking the quality of the grains and making sure the bags are filled right. It is a family-run kind of feel here, even with the workers we have. We drink a lot of tea while we wait for the trucks to arrive or depart. The road outside, the Char Rasta, is where everyone meets up, so we see a lot of our neighbors passing by. We aren't some massive factory; we are just a local mill doing our part in the village. It’s honest work, and it’s what we’ve always done. Some days the machines break down and we have to fix them ourselves, but we always get back to it and finish the day's processing.
