Radika Rice Mill

We’ve been running Radika Rice Mill for quite some time now over here in Patan. You can find us right near the Patan Tehsil office. It’s a busy spot especially during the harvest months when the tractors start lining up early in the morning. The main building isn't anything fancy to look at, just a sturdy shed where the machines do their work day and night. We spend most of our time keeping the hullers running and making sure the grain flows through the chutes without getting stuck. It gets pretty dusty inside, that’s just the nature of the business. Most people in the area know us because we’ve been in this exact spot for years. We handle a lot of the local crop that comes in from the fields nearby. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to wait around for it to come back so we can finish the batch. It’s hard work and the noise from the mill can be a bit much if you aren’t used to it. We keep our bags stacked high in the corner until they are ready to be moved out. There isn't much of a front office, mostly just a desk where we keep the logs and talk to the farmers. We try to keep things moving as fast as we can but during the peak season there’s always a bit of a wait. That’s just how it goes in a small town mill like ours.
