Ganesh Steel Industries

Ganesh Steel Industries is based out in Dediyasan. Our workshop is on Gidc-2 Plot No-2, along Modela Road. It’s a fairly open area compared to the city center, but the industrial estate is always humming with noise. We do steel fabrication and general industrial work here. The floor is concrete and usually covered in scrap pieces that we need to sort through eventually. We have a few big machines that do the heavy cutting and bending. It gets very hot in the summer months because the roof is made of metal sheets that soak up the sun. We usually leave the big sliding doors open all day to get a bit of a breeze. Modela Road sees a lot of heavy lorries passing through at all hours. We’ve been at this plot for several years now. Ganesh Steel Industries started small and we just kept at it without much fuss. There isn't much of a front office to speak of, just a small corner with a table and a few plastic chairs for when someone comes to pay a bill. We handle our own maintenance mostly because we know the machines. If a machine breaks down, we try to fix it ourselves first. It’s a practical kind of place to be. Most of the staff have been with us since we moved to Dediyasan. We just keep our heads down and get the steel ready for whoever ordered it. It's a basic setup but it works.
