R R Steel Corporation has been based at C-1/164 in the Phase-I part of the Gidc Estate for a long time. Mehsana is a big area for this kind of work, and being right in the estate helps us stay close to other businesses. We mostly handle steel supplies and the day-to-day work that comes with running a yard in an industrial zone. The office is small and usually has papers everywhere, but we know where everything is. People stop by all the time asking about stock or just checking prices for their own projects. It gets dusty out here because of all the trucks moving in and out of the Gidc, but that is how it goes. We started small and just kept going, focusing on the metal we have in the yard. Most of the guys working here have been around for years and know the layout of Phase-I pretty well. You can find us near the other units, and usually, there is a truck being loaded or unloaded at the front. We do not do much advertising; most people just find us by driving through the estate or hearing about us from someone else nearby. Sometimes the rain makes the yard a bit muddy, but we just throw some gravel down and keep going. We have an old kettle in the corner of the office for tea, and that is where most of our planning happens. The Mehsana sun can be really hot on the steel, so we try to get the heavy loading done early in the morning before it gets too bad.
