Jay Impex

Our place is at number seven in Raman Market, which is just off Assandh Road. If you know the area, you know it gets pretty crowded around lunch time. Jay Impex has been operating out of this small office for a good bit now. We spend most of our mornings opening up the shutters and getting the computer started. There’s usually a lot of back and forth with suppliers. Assandh Road is always full of trucks and bikes, so there is a constant hum of engines in the background while we work. We aren't trying to be some giant corporation. We just handle the import and export stuff that comes our way. The walls could probably use a new coat of paint, and the fan makes a bit of a clicking sound when it’s on high, but it works for us. We have a couple of guys who help with the heavy lifting and a lady who keeps the accounts straight. We don't have a big fancy lobby or anything. Usually, visitors just pull up a plastic chair. It’s straightforward work. We make sure the boxes are labeled and the addresses are correct. Sometimes things get delayed, and we have to spend the whole day on the phone sorting it out. That's just how this business goes. We like being part of the market here. Everyone knows everyone else's business, which is just how it is in this part of town.
