Gita Niketan Awasiya Vidyalaya

Being an awasiya vidyalaya means this place is busy almost twenty-four hours a day. We’re located on Salarpur Road, and because it’s a residential setup, there’s always someone around doing something. The mornings start very early with the sound of students getting ready for their prayers and breakfast in the mess hall. We have to manage the kitchen, the dorms, and the classrooms all at once. Salarpur Road itself isn't too loud, which is good for the kids who live here. The building is solid and has that old-school feel to it with its brick and mortar. We spend a lot of time making sure the food is decent and the rooms are clean enough for everyone to be comfortable. It’s a lot of responsibility to have students staying on site, so the staff stays busy from dawn until late at night. We don’t have a lot of high-tech gadgets, just the basics like blackboards, wooden benches, and chalk. Sometimes the power goes out in the evening, and we have to get the lanterns or the generator going so the kids can finish their homework. It’s a very practical way of life. We focus on the routine because that’s what keeps things moving smoothly. The garden area gets some attention when we have the time, but mostly it’s about the studies and the daily chores. It’s a simple life for the most part, away from the main city rush. We just keep doing the work.
