J K Engineering Works

Over here at J K Engineering Works, we are located in Nand Vihar Colony. It’s right off the Mall Road Bye Pass, near Jawahar Colony. It’s a handy spot because the big trucks can pull in easily from the main road. The workshop is usually filled with the sound of welding and grinding. We have a lot of metal scraps around the yard, which we try to keep tidy, but it's hard when you're busy. Most of the guys here have been working with machines since they were kids. We don't use fancy manuals much; we just know how things are supposed to fit together. The floor is concrete and usually has some oil spots on it. We aren't trying to win any beauty prizes with the shop. It’s built for work, not for looking at. Sometimes we stay late when a job needs to be finished for a customer who is waiting. We just drink some tea and keep going. The weather gets really dusty around the bye pass, so we're always wiping down the machines. People come to us because they know we’ve been in this colony for a long time. We don't talk much, we just get the metal cut or the parts fixed. It’s a regular engineering shop doing what needs to be done every day. That's our daily life.
