Narpat Singh Chouhan

Out here in the Bali and Dudni area, near Naga and Jawai Bhandh, I go by the name Narpat Singh Chouhan. This is where I have my base of operations, working with the local community and handling the things that come up in this part of Rajasthan. Life here moves at its own pace, quite different from the big cities you might be used to. Being close to the Naga area and the dam means there is always something to look after, whether it is related to the land or moving goods around for the neighbors. I spend a lot of my time on the move, meeting people face-to-face rather than sitting behind a desk all day. People around here know my name and they know where to find me when they need something done or have a question about the local projects. The sun gets very hot in the afternoons, so we usually try to get the heavy work done early in the morning when it is still cool. It is a simple way of living and working, without any of the fancy titles or big office buildings you see elsewhere. My family has been around these parts for a long time, so I know the roads and the people pretty well. Every day brings something a little bit different, but it always comes back to the same dusty roads and the familiar faces in the village. I just try to do right by the folks who live here and keep things moving as best as I can, even when the supplies take longer than expected.
