Kanmal Parakh

Our place is right in the middle of the action at Marudhar Market. We are located near the Old Bus Stand and Rana Pratap Chowk, which is always crowded. If you know the area, we are also quite close to Surana Dharamshala. It is a very busy part of town with people constantly coming and going from the buses. Kanmal Parakh is the name on the board, but we are just a regular shop handling our daily trade. The market is loud and there is always someone shouting or a horn honking nearby. Inside our space, there are boxes piled up and ledgers scattered on the counter. It is a bit of a tight squeeze when we have a few customers at once. We don't have a website or any fancy brochures. Most people find us just by walking through Rana Pratap Chowk. We spend our days talking to suppliers and customers, sometimes arguing over prices or just chatting about the weather. It is a very hands-on way of doing business. The shop has been here for a while and it feels like home to us. We don't have any big corporate dreams; we just want to keep the shop running and serve the people who come to Marudhar Market. It is a simple, hardworking life near the old bus stand, and we are fine with that.
