Jagat Singh Rajawat

I am Jagat Singh Rajawat, and I am based in the area of Desuri Badaud. This is a place where everyone knows each other’s names and their fathers' names too. My family has been around here for a long time, and I’ve just continued with the work that was always done. It’s a quiet life compared to the big cities, but there is always plenty to do. Whether it’s looking after the land or handling local business matters, I stay busy from sunrise. I don’t have a fancy office with air conditioning. My work happens out in the open or in a simple room with a fan. People come to me because they know who I am and where I come from. Trust is a big thing in a place like Badaud. If you say you’re going to do something, you have to do it, otherwise, everyone will hear about it by the next morning. I don't really think of myself as a business owner in the way people talk about it on TV. I’m just a man doing what’s necessary to keep things going for my family and the community. The roads here can be rough and the weather is often harsh, but we are used to it. We don't need much to be content. Just some good work to do and a bit of respect from the people around us. That’s how I’ve always lived. There is no point in trying to be something you are not. Sitting under the trees to talk is better than any office.
