Our location is over in Pali, Rajasthan, specifically at 4 232 in the Old Housing Board area. Even though the name says Jodhpur, we are firmly planted here in the Pali district with the pin code 306401. The office is run by folks like Prakash Singh, and it has a very local, small-town feel to it. It is not like the giant glass buildings you see in the big cities. We are in a more traditional neighborhood where people know each other by name. The dust can get in sometimes when the wind blows hard, so we are always dusting off the desks and the computer monitors. We start the day early before it gets too hot outside. Our tasks are pretty straightforward, handling the daily banking needs for the people who live nearby in the housing board. There is usually a bit of a crowd in the mornings, and then it gets quiet in the afternoons. We have some old wooden furniture and some newer plastic chairs for visitors. We spend a lot of time drinking tea and chatting with the locals while we process their requests. It is a slow and steady kind of life here. We make sure every form is filled out right and every entry is logged in the system. It is just a regular group of us working hard to keep things moving in this part of Rajasthan.
