I Mata Kirana Store

I Mata Kirana Store is located on Ramdev Road. It’s a standard grocery shop, the kind you see in every neighborhood. We have sacks of grain near the entrance and shelves filled with soaps, oils, and spices. The air always smells a bit like cumin and tea leaves. It’s a small space, so we have to stack things pretty high to fit everything in. Ramdev Road stays busy with traffic, but our regulars know where to park their cycles to run in for a few items. We don't have a computer system or anything like that; we mostly just remember the prices or look at the labels. It’s a lot of lifting heavy bags and weighing out sugar or flour for people. We don't do fancy packaging or home delivery with an app. People just come in with their handwritten lists, and we fill them up. Sometimes we run out of something and have to wait for the truck to come the next day. It’s a straightforward way to make a living. We’ve known some of our customers since they were kids, and now they bring their own children in. There’s no big secret to how we run things. We just try to keep the staples in stock so people can cook their meals. If you’re walking down Ramdev Road, you’ll see us there, probably moving some boxes around or chatting with a neighbor.
