About Godwaad Collection – Housewares & Supplies in Pali
Being situated right across from the Sanatan Dharamshala in Pratap Bazar makes things quite interesting for us at Godwaad Collection. This part of Rani can get very crowded, especially during the festival months when people come into the bazar from all the small villages nearby. Our shop is where we keep all the clothes and different garments we have gathered to sell. It is mostly just simple racks and some hangers along the walls. I try to keep the front of the shop tidy, but with so many people coming in to look at things, the piles of fabric usually get a bit messy by the time it is noon. I usually spend my mornings drinking tea standing by the doorway while watching the motorbikes and carts go by. The noise of the market is quite loud, but it is something you just get used to after working here for a while. We have all sorts of people walking in. Some like to stay and talk for an hour about the weather, and some just want to buy one item and get back home. I do not mind either way. The light in the back of the store is a bit dim, so I often tell people to bring the cloth to the front to see the true color in the sunlight. We do not have any big air conditioning units, just two fans that hum all day. It is a very basic setup. We open early when the air is still cool.
