Our spot is located in Sadri, over in the New Aabadi Ka Bas area near Ranakpur. It’s a place where things move a bit slower than in the big cities. The air is different here and you can see the hills in the distance on a clear day. The shop is part of the local fabric. We don’t have a big neon sign or anything like that, just the name that people know. Most of our day is spent interacting with folks from the village or people passing through on their way to the temples. It’s a very grounded kind of life. We might spend the morning tidying up the front or talking to a neighbor who stopped by for a chat over some water. The building itself is simple and sturdy, built to handle the heat of the Rajasthan sun. We have some old benches where people can sit and rest for a bit while we finish up what we are doing. There is no air conditioning, just the breeze if we are lucky and a ceiling fan that has been spinning for years. We keep our records in a simple way and don't worry too much about modern fluff. Everything is about being reliable and being there when people expect us to be. It’s a way of life that hasn't changed much over the years. We just like the fact that we are a local fixture in Sadri. It’s honest work in a beautiful part of the country and we like it here.
