Giri Rajasthani Orchestra Musical Group

We are the Giri Rajasthani Orchestra Musical Group, and you can find us on Sojat Road Subhash Marg. Our space is usually filled with instruments. There are drums in one corner and harmoniums in another. It gets pretty loud when everyone is here practicing at the same time. We don't have a soundproof room, so the music drifts out onto Subhash Marg all day long. Some people like it, others probably wish we’d be quieter. We spend a lot of time repairing the instruments because they get beat up during travel. Our group has been around for a while. We aren't famous or anything, we just play for whoever asks us. We keep our schedules on a big wall calendar that’s covered in scribbles. Sometimes we forget to update it, which causes a bit of a mess. It’s not a corporate office at all. There are cushions on the floor and a lot of tea cups sitting around. When we aren't out at a performance, we’re usually here just talking or tuning the strings. Sojat Road is a good spot for us. It’s easy for people to find the place. We don't have a website or anything like that. People just know us through word of mouth. It's a simple way to run things, and it works for us. We just love the music and the noise of the group. It is what we do.
