Dinesh Mohan Sharma

If you walk toward Gandhi Murti, you’ll find us right at number 14. It’s a landmark that everyone in the area uses for directions, so we are easy to locate. I am Dinesh Mohan Sharma, and I’ve been running things from this spot for quite a while now. The area around Gandhi Murti is always buzzing with people, especially in the evenings when the market nearby gets busy. Number 14 isn't a very large building, but it has enough room for what we need to accomplish each day. The walls are a bit thin, so we can hear the traffic and the people talking outside, but you get used to that after a week or two. I usually start my day by opening up the shutters and letting some air in, though the dust from the road comes in with it. We don't have any flashy signs or neon lights. It’s just a plain door with the number on it. Most of my day is spent handling requests and talking to people who drop in. It’s not always exciting, and some days are just filled with mundane chores, but that’s part of the job. I don't really have a big philosophy about it; I just show up and do the work that needs to be done at Gandhi Murti 14. It’s just how we keep things moving along without much fuss. We finish up when the sun goes down and the street lights come on.
