Dev Dutt Solanki

Dev Dutt Solanki is based at Surajpole 25. Being near the Surajpole gate means there is always a lot of movement outside our door. It is one of the main areas of the city, so we get to see everything from tourists to local vendors passing by all day long. Our office at number 25 is a modest space. The paint is peeling a little near the window because of the sun, but we haven't gotten around to fixing it yet. We have a few benches for people to sit on and a desk that has seen better days. There is a small calendar on the wall that we forget to flip sometimes. We don’t have fancy air conditioning, just a big window that we keep open to catch the breeze, even if it brings in some of the street noise. Most of our work is done on paper, though we do have a small laptop for the important things. We usually have a jar of biscuits on the table for whoever stops by. It’s a very informal place. We know most of the people who work in the neighboring buildings, and we often stand outside for a bit in the evenings to chat about the day. It’s a simple way to run things, and being at this address for so long has made us feel like a real part of the Surajpole neighborhood. We just take each day as it comes.
