Queen Kitcheen Decor Co.

We operate out of Unit 109 in the New Virmani Industrial Co-Op Society. It’s a busy industrial estate in Mumbai where there is always something being loaded onto a truck. Our workshop is where we handle kitchen decor and cabinets, so there is usually a lot of sawdust in the air and the constant hum of the cutting machines. It’s not a fancy showroom. It’s a place where we get our hands dirty every day. We have stacks of wood and sheets of laminate leaning against every available wall. Our desk is tucked in a corner under a pile of measuring tapes and scraps of paper. We spend most of our time actually making things, so the office part of the business often gets neglected. If a customer comes by, they usually just stand in the doorway while we talk about what they need for their house. We don’t have a lot of polished brochures. Most of our work comes from people who saw a kitchen we did for their friend or neighbor. It’s a lot of physical labor, lifting heavy boards and fitting things together, but it’s what we know. The summers are tough in the unit because it gets very hot, but we just keep the fans going and carry on. We aren't trying to be the biggest company out there; we just want to finish the work we have in front of us.
