Diya Metal

Diya Metal is situated out on Dahanu Road. We are in the Dahanu area of District Thane, which is quite close to the Dahanu railway station. You can actually hear the trains passing by if it’s a quiet moment, which it rarely is. This part of Thane is always moving. Our workshop is where all the metal work happens. It’s a hot place, especially during the summer months when the sun hits the roof. We have stacks of metal lying around and tools everywhere. It’s a working space, so don’t expect it to be spotless. We’ve got oil on our hands most days. My cousin and I started this because we knew the metal trade well. We spend most of the day cutting and sorting things. The station being nearby helps with getting stuff moved around, but the traffic on Dahanu Road can be a real headache. We have a small corner where we sit to eat lunch. It’s mostly local guys working here. We don't have a website or anything like that, we just talk to people who come by the gate. The sign outside is a bit faded from the rain last year. We just keep at it, one day at a time. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy from sunrise until the last train for the evening goes past. Sometimes we stay late to finish a big batch of orders that needs to go out.
