Sree Vyasa Vidyanikethan School

We are based in Kappur, which is a quiet part of Palakkad. Our school is a place where we try to keep things traditional and simple. The surroundings are quite green, which is typical for this part of Kerala. We have students coming in from the nearby villages every morning. The school day starts with a bit of a rush as the buses and cycles arrive at the gates. We have a few buildings for the different grades. It’s not a fancy institution with a lot of high-tech gadgets or expensive equipment. We mostly use chalkboards and books. The teachers here have been part of the community for a long time. We know the parents and even the grandparents of many of our students. It’s that kind of place. Sometimes the rain in Palakkad gets really heavy, and we have to adjust how we do things, but we are used to it. We just focus on the daily lessons. There’s a lot of emphasis on culture and local values because that’s what our community cares about. We keep the grounds as clean as we can, though with so many kids running around, it’s a losing battle sometimes. It’s a humble school. We don't make big promises. We just provide a place for kids to sit down and study together. It’s a big part of the local life here in Kappur and we are glad to be part of this neighborhood.
