Hassaniya Public Scool

Hassaniya Public Scool is situated in Hasaniyya Nagar, which is over in the Kodunthirapulli area of Palakkad. It’s a bit of a trek to get out here if you aren't from the area, but it’s a good spot for a school. We are close to places like Pirayiri and Kallekkad, so we get students from all those directions. The school has a plain look to it, just several buildings around a central area where everyone gathers for the morning assembly. Palakkad can get really hot, so we try to keep the rooms as cool as possible with fans. It’s a public school, so things are pretty standard. We have the usual classes and the usual exams that everyone has to deal with. The staff is mostly local people who understand the rhythm of life in this part of the district. We don't have any grand speeches about the future; we just take things one day at a time. The kids bring their tiffin boxes and eat under the trees during the break. It’s a very normal, everyday kind of place. Sometimes we have small programs or a sports meet, but nothing too over the top. We just want to make sure the kids learn what they need to and that they stay out of trouble. It’s a quiet life here in Hasaniyya Nagar and we like it that way.
