Kharkhara Farmers Producer Companylimited is based in the Nuapada district. Our main spot is in the village of Jangula, near Budhipalli, and our office is care of Siba Prasad Sahu. We are out near Khariar Road, which is a bit of a dry and dusty area for much of the year. Farming here takes a lot of grit. We are a collective of farmers who live and work in this part of the state. We deal with the typical crops that can handle the local conditions. Life in Nuapada is simple, and our company reflects that. We don't have any polished marketing materials or a big corporate structure. It’s just Siba and the rest of us sitting down to figure out the best way to get through the next season. The office is a modest place where we handle the paperwork that comes with being a registered company. Most of the time, though, you’ll find us out in the fields rather than behind a desk. We’ve had to deal with droughts and pests more times than we can count, but we keep going because it’s what we know. Being part of a producer company gives us a bit more strength when we are trying to get fair prices for our harvest. It’s a local effort by people who understand the local ground. We are just trying to make a living like everyone else around here.
