Taj Mahal Flour

Over here at 15, Anand Nagar, the air always smells a bit like grain. We are Taj Mahal Flour and we’ve been on Old Rohtak Road for as long as I can remember. The machines make a steady humming sound that you stop noticing after the first hour. It’s a messy job, really. Flour gets on everything—your hair, your clothes, even your shoes. But it’s good work. We supply a lot of the local shops. They know us. We don't have any big corporate goals. We just want the machines to keep running without breaking down. Last week, the main belt snapped and we were all standing around for three hours trying to fix it. That's just a normal day for us. The office is just a small corner with a wooden desk and a calendar from five years ago. We don't really care about the decor. People come in, they buy what they need, and we help them load it. It’s simple. Anand Nagar is a nice enough place, though it gets crowded during the morning rush. The traffic on Old Rohtak Road can be a nightmare sometimes. But once you’re inside the gates, it’s just us and the grain. We keep our heads down and do the work. It’s how it’s always been and how it’ll stay. We have been doing this for a long time and we like the routine of it.
