Radiant Fashion Private Limited sits right on Plot No. 1181-1182 in Rithala. This is a big space but somehow we still manage to run out of room for all the cardboard boxes we keep on hand. The air in the industrial area always feels a bit heavy with the smell of exhaust, though inside we’ve got some old fans going to keep us cool. Back when I started working here, the walls were still being painted. Now they’re all scuffed up from moving the heavy metal racks around every week. Handwritten lists are how every morning starts so we know what needs to be packed and sent out. Fancy people don't work here. Most of us wear comfortable shoes because we’re on our feet all day on these hard concrete floors. When the water cooler breaks down, everyone gets a bit grumpy until it's fixed. Big windows are in the office but they mostly look out at other grey warehouses and the occasional stray dog. Handling different fabrics throughout the day is the main task. Some are soft and nice, while others are scratchy and leave lint on everything. Touching them is how you learn to tell the difference without even looking. Ledger books stay a bit messy because of the hurry. Making sure everything that goes out the door is correct is the goal. Folding and counting takes up most of the hours. If the numbers are wrong, we just start the whole pile over.
