Gita Variety Stores

Gita Variety Stores is located at 50-A/9 in the PNB Building in Naharpur, Rohini Sector 7. Being in the bank building means there’s always people coming and going nearby. The shop is exactly what the name says—a bit of everything. We have stuff hanging from the ceiling and piled up on the floor because there just isn't enough shelf space. It’s a bit of a maze inside, but that’s just how variety stores end up looking after a while. I spend a lot of time helping people find small things like buttons or specific types of thread. The light in here is a bit yellow, which gives the place an old-fashioned feel. I’ve lived in Rohini for a long time, so I know most of the people who walk through the door. We don’t have a website or anything like that; we just open the doors and talk to whoever comes by. Sometimes the stock doesn't arrive on time and I have to explain to the regulars why something isn't there yet. It’s a lot of small interactions throughout the day. I keep a small stool behind the counter because my knees start to ache if I stand too long. It’s a humble little shop, and we just try to keep it going day by day without making too much of a fuss about anything. It’s just a part of the neighborhood where you find things you forgot.
