Dhir General Store

Our place is situated right by the P and T Colony bus stop on Nagawar Main Road. It’s a very busy stretch of the G.T Road, so there is always a lot of noise from the buses and cars passing by. We get many people waiting for their bus who just pop in for a quick bottle of water or some gum. Because we are so close to the colony, the residents also come by for their bread and eggs in the morning. The shop is small and we have had to make use of every single inch of wall space to fit things. It is a bit of a squeeze sometimes when a few people come in at once. We do not really do anything special, just keep the basics that everyone uses every day. I spend a lot of time checking the dates on things and making sure we aren't running out of the popular brands. The main road is always dusty, so I end up cleaning the counter more than I would like to. It’s just one of those things you have to deal with here. Working at this location means seeing a lot of strangers passing through, but we also have our regulars from the P and T quarters. It is a steady kind of life for us. We don't have a big staff, just us keeping things moving along. Sometimes the rain makes things slow down, but mostly it is the usual flow.
