Dev Departmental Store

Rohini Sector 9 is a planned area, but it still has its own rhythm and chaos. We are located at Shop No- 22 in CSC- 5, which everyone around here calls the Goal Market. Delhi winters are very cold and the summers are boiling, so the shop feels different every season. I spend most of my time behind the counter of Dev Departmental Store. We carry a bit more than just the basic grocery items. I try to have different kinds of snacks and cleaning supplies for the homes nearby. The Goal Market is a local hub, so we see the same faces every single day. I know which auntie wants the specific brand of rice and which kid wants the blue pen for school. It is not a fancy place with air conditioning or glass doors. We just have a couple of old wall fans. I do all the ordering and stocking myself. Sometimes I forget to order something and then I have to run to the bigger market to get it. The shelves are made of simple wood and I painted them myself a few years back. It is a bit messy sometimes because we have so many items in such a small space. I do not have a big philosophy about it. I just want to make sure the stock is fresh and the prices are fair for everyone. I am here seven days a week usually. It is just what I do.
