We operate out of House Number 68 in the village of Madan Pur Dabas. It’s a bit out of the way, near Rani Khera in New Delhi, but we like it here. The area still feels like a village even though the city is creeping in from all sides. We do a lot of our design and planning work from this quiet spot. It is a lot easier to focus on drawings and architectural details when you aren't in the middle of a noisy commercial district. The house has been converted to fit our needs with large tables for laying out blueprints and a few computers for the digital stuff. We get a lot of locals walking past the office, sometimes stopping to ask what we are building. The commute to the post office in Rani Khera is just a short trip away. We don’t have a sign that glows at night or a fancy glass front. It’s just a solid brick building where we spend our hours thinking about structures and spaces. Sometimes the cows from the village wander near the entrance, which is just part of life in this corner of Delhi. We drink a lot of chai and spend a lot of time discussing how to make things work within the budgets we are given. It’s a practical place for practical people who just want to get the job done without any extra fuss or pretense. We enjoy the slower pace of life here.
