We are over at 234-235 in the New Lajpat Rai Market. If you know Chandni Chowk, you know how crowded it gets around here every single day. Our shop is right in the middle of all that noise and the constant movement of people carrying heavy boxes. We’ve been operating out of this spot for quite a while now. Most mornings start with unlocking the metal shutters and checking what stock came in late the night before. There is always tea being passed around from the stall nearby, which helps with the morning rush. We deal with various trading items and keep things stacked up to the ceiling because space is always tight in this part of Delhi. It’s not a fancy place with air conditioning or big glass doors. It’s a proper old-school market shop where you can hear the rickshaws and shouting outside all day long. Sometimes the electricity goes out for a bit, but we just keep going. People stop by asking for directions or looking for specific parts. We spend most of our time organizing the inventory and making sure the ledgers are somewhat in order. It’s a lot of manual work, moving crates and talking to the transporters who struggle to park their vehicles in the narrow lanes. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but there is never really a quiet time to get it done. We just focus on the items we sell and making sure everything gets where it needs to go.
