Sar Agro Chemicals & Fertilizers sits right on S. P. Mukherjee Marg at number 1673. It is a busy stretch of road and there is always something going on outside our doors. Inside, you will mostly see bags and containers stacked up. The floor is usually a bit dusty because of the nature of what we handle, but that’s just how it is when you are dealing with agricultural stuff every day. We have farmers and distributors coming in all day. Some of them have been coming here for years. We know most of them by name. The air in here has that distinct smell of fertilizers, sort of earthy and sharp at the same time. We don't have a receptionist or anything like that. Usually, one of us just looks up from the ledger when someone walks in. It is a functional space meant for moving product, not for sitting around and chatting. We have an old desk where we keep the records and a telephone that never seems to stop ringing. Sometimes the traffic on the Marg gets so backed up that people just park their bikes and walk in to say hello. It is a lot of manual work, moving things around and making sure the right bags go to the right trucks. We do not do much in the way of advertising. Most people know we are here just by word of mouth or seeing the sign when they drive past.
