Rajnish Chemical Co is tucked away at 283-D in Katra Peran, which is right in the heart of Tilak Bazar. If you have ever been to Tilak Bazar, you know how narrow the lanes are and how many people are always rushing around. Our shop is one of many in that area, and it is usually packed with containers and bags of different chemicals. We don't have a lot of room to move around, so we have to be very organized with how we stack things. The air always has a bit of a sharp smell to it, which is expected when you work with chemicals every day. We spend most of our time taking orders from people who walk in or calling up our regulars to let them know their stuff has arrived. It is a very old-fashioned way of doing business, with a lot of face-to-face talk and hand-written receipts. We use a small wooden table as our main counter and there is always a bit of a mess with papers and samples. We have been in Katra Peran for a long time and we know all the neighboring shopkeepers. Dealing with the logistics of getting supplies into such a crowded market is always a challenge, but we have a rhythm for it now. We open early when the market is just waking up and stay until the shutters go down. It is a crowded life but it works for us.
