Started the business here in Naya Bazar a long time back. It is always crowded near Peeli Kothi, especially with the Old Delhi Railway Station being so close. We have our trucks moving out every day. Sometimes they get stuck in traffic for hours before even leaving the city. It’s just how it is here. Most of our work is making sure things get loaded right and the drivers know where they are going. We deal with all sorts of goods, mostly going interstate. The office is small but it works for us. We spend a lot of time on the phone checking where the shipments are. It gets really dusty with all the construction and vehicles passing by. You can hear the trains from the station if things ever get quiet, but they rarely do. My father used to sit in this same spot. We know most of the loaders and other transport guys around here by name. It’s a busy life but we are used to the noise and the constant movement of sacks and boxes. We don't really have fancy desks or anything, just enough chairs and a lot of registers. Sometimes the tea man comes by twice an hour because there’s always someone stopping in to ask about a delivery or a rate. We just keep things moving as much as we can. It’s the kind of place where your clothes end up smelling like diesel by the end of the shift.
