You will find us on the first floor over in Chand Market, right in the middle of the Hauz Qazi area. It is a very old building and the stairs are a bit steep, so you have to watch your step when you are coming up. Downstairs it is always a mess with people moving boxes and rickshaws trying to get through the narrow lanes near Jama Masjid. We have been selling tools and doing engineering bits from this spot for a long time now. The shop is filled with shelves from floor to ceiling. Sometimes it takes a minute to find exactly what a customer is asking for because there is so much stock piled up. It gets quite hot in the afternoons, but we have a couple of old ceiling fans that keep the air moving. We aren't the type of place with fancy displays or lights. It is just a regular shop where we talk to people and figure out what tool fits their job. Most of our day is spent handling phone calls and writing out bills by hand. We know most of the other shopkeepers around here, so there is always someone dropping by for a chat or a cup of tea. It is a noisy place to work, but we are used to the sounds of the market by now. We just focus on keeping the inventory right and making sure we do not run out of the basics.
