Neel Kamal Bag House

Neel Kamal Bag House sits right at G-1 Kamla Market in Jawahar Nagar. Most of the time, the shop is a bit cluttered because we have so many different bags piled up on the wooden racks. We open up the shutters around 10 AM, and the first thing we usually do is dust off the display cases because the street outside gets quite a lot of traffic. It is a small place, but we manage to fit in school bags, travel gear, and some smaller pouches. People from the neighborhood stop by often, usually looking for something sturdy for their kids' school books. We spend most of the day just talking to customers or checking the stock that comes in from the suppliers. Sometimes the fan in the corner makes a bit of noise, but we are used to it by now. The floor is made of old tiles that have seen a lot of feet over the years. We keep a ledger on the small desk near the door to track what goes out. It is just a regular shop where we do our daily work. We don't have a big team, just a couple of us who know where everything is kept. If someone asks for a specific color, we usually have to dig through a few stacks to find it. It stays busy during the festival seasons when everyone wants something new, but otherwise, it is a quiet, steady kind of life here in Jawahar Nagar.
