Kailash Chand Kapoor is our small business located at 1616/1/2 in Old Manwari Katra. This is inside Anand Market on Nai Sarak. This part of Old Delhi is famous for being incredibly narrow and very old. We’ve been here for a long time, and the building shows it. The walls at 1616/1/2 are thick and the doorways are low. Nai Sarak is the place everyone goes for books and paper products. We are right in the thick of it. The Katra is always full of people carrying heavy loads and shouting to get through. It’s a bit of a struggle to get in and out of Anand Market during peak hours. Our shop is filled with stacks of ledgers and paper. There is a specific smell to this place, like old dust and ink. We don't have air conditioning, so we just use old ceiling fans that make a lot of noise. We handle everything the old-fashioned way. Kailash Chand Kapoor isn't a modern office. It’s a place where we write things down by hand and keep physical records. We know the other shop owners in Manwari Katra quite well. We often share a meal or a tea while sitting on the steps. It’s a very traditional way of working. We don't really change much as the years go by. We just stay here at 1616/1/2 and do our daily tasks.
