Jewel Kraft International

If you ever walk through Katra Neel in Chandni Chowk, you know how busy it gets. Our place, Jewel Kraft International, is tucked away at 582 in Gali Ghanteshwer. It's one of those narrow lanes where you have to watch your step. We work on jewelry and related items here. The space is small, but we pack a lot into it. Most of our day is spent looking at small pieces and making sure everything is put together right. Chandni Chowk has a certain energy that you don't find anywhere else, though the traffic can be a nightmare. We’ve been operating out of this spot for a long time. It’s not a shiny showroom like you see in the malls. It’s more of a workshop feel, with tools and materials scattered around where we need them. We deal with a lot of different people, from local regulars to those who travel from further away just to find something specific in the market. Sometimes it’s chaotic, especially during the festival seasons when everyone is rushing. We just keep our heads down and get the work done. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but we're usually too busy to worry about that. It’s just us doing what we know how to do, right in the middle of all the noise and history of old Delhi. Every day is different, but the work remains the same and the tea is always hot.
