Jain Traders

If you’ve ever been to the Chawri Bazar Metro Station, you’ve probably walked right past us. Jain Traders is at No. 4650, Ajmeri Gate, right across from the station entrance. It’s a very crowded area. People are always rushing by, and the noise from the traffic is constant. We’ve been in this spot for years. Our shop is small and filled to the ceiling with items. We sell all sorts of things, mostly ironmongery and metal goods. It’s hard to keep it tidy with so many people coming in and out. Sometimes it feels like we are playing a game of Tetris just to get a box out from the back. We don't have a website or anything fancy. We just open the shutters in the morning and wait for the regulars to show up. My father started this, and now I’m the one sitting behind the counter. We know most of the other shopkeepers around here. We share tea and complain about the heat. It’s a community. You learn to ignore the chaos of the street after a while. If a customer needs something we don't have, we usually know who down the street does. We just keep things simple. No big sales pitches here. Just tell us what you need, and we’ll see if it’s in the stacks somewhere. It’s a bit of a squeeze, but we like it here at Ajmeri Gate.
