Jai Bharat Jadi Booti Bhandar

We are located at 6062/C in Gali Batashan, which is tucked away in the Khari Baoli area. It’s a very narrow lane, so you have to watch where you are walking. Our shop, Jai Bharat Jadi Booti Bhandar, is where we keep all sorts of dried herbs and traditional roots. You can smell the herbs the moment you turn into the alley. It’s an earthy, old scent that stays with you. We have big wooden drawers and sacks piled up everywhere. It’s a bit of a maze inside. We spend our time sorting through different plants and making sure everything is dry and clean. The sunlight doesn't always reach the bottom of the lane, so we keep the lights on all day. It’s a busy spot with laborers carrying heavy loads on their backs. We’ve been here for a long time, watching the market change, but Gali Batashan stays mostly the same. We talk to people who are looking for specific herbs. It’s not a modern store with air conditioning. It’s an old-fashioned place. We write out bills by hand and use old methods for everything. The people who work here have been doing this for years. We aren't trying to be anything big. We just keep the tradition of the jadi booti trade going in this little corner of Delhi. The sacks are heavy and the air is thick with the smell of dried roots. It's just part of the daily routine.
