Inland Bearing Centre

67 G B Road is where you’ll find us. It’s an old part of the city and Inland Bearing Centre has been part of the landscape for a bit. The shop is full of boxes, and I mean really full. Bearings come in all sizes, so we have tiny ones in drawers and huge heavy ones sitting on the floor. It smells like machine oil and old cardboard in here, which I guess is just part of the job. The street outside is always narrow and crowded with carts and people moving stuff. We spend a lot of time looking through catalogs or checking the shelves to see if we have a specific part number. It’s not the kind of place where you come to sit and relax. It’s a place for getting what you need for a machine that’s probably broken down somewhere. We deal with a lot of mechanics and factory people who are usually in a hurry. The counter is worn down from years of sliding heavy metal parts across it. We don't have a fancy website or a big marketing plan. We just open the shutters in the morning and see who needs help. Sometimes it’s slow and we just tidy up the stock, but usually, there’s someone asking for a bearing we have to dig around for. It's greasy work, but it's what we do every day and we are okay with that.
