Bittoo Engineering Works

Wazirpur Industrial Area is a busy place, and we are right on the Main Road at B 31/2. Bittoo Engineering Works has been operating out of this spot for as long as I can remember. It’s a noisy neighborhood with trucks and laborers moving around all day long. Our workshop is always humming with the sound of motors. We do a lot of metal work here. Sometimes the heat from the machines gets to be a bit much, especially in June, but we’re used to it by now. We aren't a big corporation or anything like that. It’s just a group of us who know how to handle steel and iron. We have some old machines that still work better than the new ones we bought recently. The front gate stays open all day so people can just walk in and ask questions. We usually have grease on our clothes and our hands are always stained. That’s just part of the job. Most of our work comes from word of mouth. Someone tells a friend that we did a decent job on a part, and then they show up at our door. We don't have a website or anything like that. We just stay here and do the work that comes our way. Lunch is usually whatever we brought from home, eaten quickly before the next job starts. It’s a honest living and we like being on the main road where everything happens.
