Afc Pharmaceuticals Nova is located right in the middle of the chaos at No. 1726/205 inside Ritco Rice Palace in Naya Bazar. If you know Khari Baoli, you know it’s one of the most crowded places you can find. The air is always thick with the smell of spices and grains being moved around in big sacks. Our spot is just one of many in this old building. It’s not a sterile lab or anything like that. It’s a trade office where we handle the distribution and paperwork for various pharmaceutical products. The streets outside are narrow and always jammed with handcarts and rickshaws. Getting deliveries in and out is a real challenge every single day. We spend most of our time on the phone with suppliers or checking inventory in our small storage area. The building itself has a lot of history, but that also means the stairs are worn down and the electricity can be a bit temperamental. It’s a gritty, hard-working environment. We aren't wearing white lab coats here; we are mostly in regular clothes, trying to keep track of orders and making sure the batches are correct. It’s a busy life in Naya Bazar and you have to be quick to keep up with the pace. We’ve been part of this market for a long time and we just get on with the job as best as we can.
