Prayas

Prayas is tucked away in Udaypur, Nimta, right on Chittaranjan Bose Sarani. It’s a bit of a trek from the main city, but we like the atmosphere here. Our building isn't anything to look at twice, just a plain structure that serves its purpose. We spend our days mostly coordinating things and talking to the local people who come by. It’s not a high-pressure environment, though we do have our busy moments when several things happen at once. The road outside can be quite narrow, so when a delivery truck comes, everything else has to stop for a minute. We’ve got a few desks and some old filing cabinets that have seen better days. There’s no big philosophy behind what we do; we just saw a need for this kind of work in Nimta and decided to set up shop. The people who work here live nearby, so we all know each other’s families and what’s going on in the neighborhood. It’s more like a small community than a regular company. We don’t use a lot of technical jargon or try to sound more important than we are. If someone asks what we do, we just tell them plainly. It’s hard work sometimes, especially when the weather is hot, but we’ve got a good rhythm going. We plan to stay in Udaypur for the foreseeable future, just doing what we’ve always done on Chittaranjan Bose Sarani.
