Brajendra Nath High School (H.S.)

Brajendra Nath High School has been around for quite some time now, though older folks around here still call it Beara High School. We are located right on the Parmadan Bibhutibhushan Avayarana Road in Bagdah. It’s a busy enough road, especially with people heading toward the sanctuary nearby. The school building looks its age, but it’s sturdy and has seen many generations of students from North 24 Parganas pass through its doors. Mornings are usually loud with the sound of cycles and kids walking in from the neighboring villages. We don’t have fancy stuff here, just the classrooms and the courtyard where everyone gathers. The teachers have been here for years and they know most of the families by name. Life moves at its own pace in this part of Bagdah. Sometimes the power goes out, or the rain makes the road a bit messy, but things keep running. It’s a local place through and through. Students come here to finish their higher secondary studies and then they move on to college or jobs in the city. There is a lot of history in these walls, even if the name on the gate changed. We just try to keep the place tidy and make sure the bells ring on time every day. It's a simple setup, really. Nothing more, nothing less than what a village school should be for the community living around the forest road.
