Our little shop is No 32 over in Sector 29. It’s not the biggest place in the market, but we make it work. I remember when we first moved in, the floor was completely bare and we had to build all the racks ourselves. Now, the walls are covered in clothes and we barely have enough room to move around sometimes. Sector 29 is a decent area for a business like ours. We get a lot of locals who stop by while they are out doing their grocery shopping. We don't really do any big promotions. Usually, someone just sees something they like in the window and walks in. We keep a small stool behind the counter where I sit when things are quiet. My daughter helps out on the weekends when she’s not at school. We spend a lot of time steaming the garments and making sure the hangers are straight. It can be a bit boring when the foot traffic is slow, but there is always a button to sew back on or a seam to check. We’ve had the same neighbors for five years now, and we all look out for each other’s shops. It’s a simple way to make a living. We don't have any big corporate goals or anything like that. We just try to keep the shop clean and have enough variety so people have something to look at when they visit us in the afternoon.
